Yesterday USCIS announced that it has begun recalling approximately 8,543 Permanent Resident Cards due to a production error that printed erroneous "resident since" dates on certain cards mailed between February and April 2018. The cards were printed for approved Forms I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions of Residencefor spouses of U.S. citizens. Affected individuals and their attorneys of record, if any, will receive notice and will have 20 days after receiving the notice to return their incorrect Green Cards to USCIS in a provided pre-paid envelope. USCIS stated that individuals will receive their corrected green cards within 15 days of receiving the incorrect card. USCIS also confirmed that the recall does not affect the card holders' status as lawful permanent residents.
