Goel & Anderson, LLC, a leading business immigration law firm, today announced that the firm has significantly strengthened its business immigration practice with the addition of a highly respected business immigration attorney. Vera Fry, formerly Assistant District Counsel for the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS), has joined the firm as a Partner.
Ms. Fry advises multinational corporate entities and their employees on complex legal matters involving business immigration law. Her practice is focused on all of the major U.S. immigrant and nonimmigrant visa classifications, including PERM, H-1B, L-1A, L-1B, E-1, E-2, and B-1 issues.
Ms. Fry has practiced immigration law since 1999 when she was selected to be an Honor Law Graduate in the highly competitive U.S. Department of Justice Attorney General's Honors Program. She served as Assistant District Counsel with the former Immigration and Naturalization Service, advising operational units and litigating a wide variety of asylum, removal and deportation cases in California and Arizona immigration courts. Subsequently, she lived in Japan for eight years where she was a registered foreign attorney (gaikokuhou jimu bengoshi), assisting Japanese companies with their business immigration needs.
In addition to being a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, Vera is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan, and has served on the Steering Committee of the Foreign Lawyers Association of Japan (Gaiben Kyokai).
Vic Goel, Managing Partner of Goel & Anderson, noted "Vera's tenure at legacy-INS, coupled with her experience as a registered foreign attorney in Japan, expands the depth of our business immigration expertise and better enables us to meet the comprehensive U.S. and global immigration needs of our corporate clients, particularly those with significant operations in Japan and the Pacific Rim."
"I am excited to join a highly respected global business immigration firm that is committed to serving its clients with the highest levels of expertise and client service," said Ms. Fry. "Businesses face many challenges in conducting business in the United States, not the least of which is ensuring immigration compliance while recruiting highly skilled specialists from abroad. I look forward to expanding the firm's client portfolio in Japan and the Pacific Rim, while also providing strategic immigration guidance to our clients."
